The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.
Gamers have begun resorting to personalized games created through Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, highlighting just how demanding these missions have become.
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. The game includes four types of assignments, but although many only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the only way of getting a dozen out of forty-one primary weapons available in the game.
A number of these restricted firearms might eventually earn a place on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
On Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
"This challenge is so atrocious and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Additionally, hipfiring an LMG is highly imprecise and is effective only at very short distances, which is not usually a position you aim to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
One more community participant pointed out another ridiculously tough challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:
This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game at present, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and possibly a classic map at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.
There is a workaround though: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.
Yet, if tackling the tasks in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for finishing these in a private match so allies are not impaired?
It is expected if several of these tasks are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, certain gamers simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
At the moment, the community continues to voice their opinions on these challenging in-game tasks, expecting a less arduous gaming experience in future updates.
